The Bald Thoughts

If you wanted to have an overwater bungalow experience, you would have to travel halfway around the world.  Now, with Sandals overwater bungalows, you can enjoy the warm Caribbean sun while dipping your toes in the water.  The Caribbean is a quick flight from most everywhere in the US, so it seems to be a much more attainable option than the Maldives, Bora Bora, and other South Pacific destinations.

And don’t forget to enter the Sandals overwater bungalow contest!

too bad there is no way besides winning a contest to make this type of room more affordable…at $2100 a night I don’t see us spending time in their bungalows.

I hear you. As wonderful as some of these resorts are, I might have to re-mortgage my house or sell one of my kids to take a vacation there. Even the 4th night free from Citi Prestige isn’t enough of a help to bring the price down.

I also reviewed the pricing when they first became available and noted that is could even be about $15,000+ for a short stay. So winning the contest would be awesome. Thanks for highlighting this contest! Hopefully one of your readers will win as this would be an incredible experience.

I stayed at Sandals for my honeymoon. It was a nice resort, but my wife and I were a bit underwhelmed with the experience. In most cases Sandals is priced higher than similar resorts and in many cases the experience at the lower cost resort is often better in terms of the quality of the food and drinks. Although… I have other friends that have absolutely loved their experience at Sandals. So perhaps ours was an exception.
